After being in the property management business for over two decades now, as well as being an owner of an investment property myself, I have observed many owners becoming frustrated with wanting to be a good landlord/property owner but not knowing where to start. They are uninformed on how to properly manage their properties as it relates to on-going maintenance of their properties from the standpoint of what’s required from a landlord, overwhelmed with the attempt in understanding Oregon Landlord/Tenant Laws and the recent rent control law that took effect in February 2019, feeling intimidated with entering the overall responsibilities that come with being an owner, and owners simply not interested in being a part of the day to day management process at all.

I have also observed tenants feeling frustrated, at times, when having experienced an owner or rental property in which there was a lack of care, concern, or proper oversight. As well as recognizing the outcome of tenants being a steady resource of income generated for a rental property and owner when they feel valued and cared for by way of proper management and oversight of a rental property; a place they call home. For a potential tenant, it can be a very daunting feat in searching for the perfect rental property to call home.

Considering the many perspectives that come from property ownership and the vast experiences of potential tenants is what motivated me to start my own business of providing full service property management for owners with residential-single family investment properties, as well as for potential tenants looking to find the ideal rental property; thus the inception of A&E Property Management.
